Coming to Grips (2018)

Two of my pieces were selected for Under Fire 2, an Enamel Guild North East exhibition which presents a broad range of contemporary enamels including experimental approaches as well as traditional designs and techniques, highlighting the various applications and potential of the medium.

“Coming to Grips” (2017) This piece is all about my hands, my body, the aging process, and life – Coming to grips with the irony that as I reach the point in my life when I have the time and opportunity (through retirement) to use my hands creatively, my hands are also being weakened and limited (through aging) by osteoarthritis. Materials: Copper, enamel, decals, silkscreen, silver foil. 10″ x 10″.

Sea-ish (2017)

“Sea-ish” (2017) This fun little enameled copper sea shape with natural bristles rests on a mica filled stone. 3.5″ x 1.5″ x 3″.
